The WÜSTHOF way

Made in Solingen. Only in Solingen.
Known for centuries as the ‘City of Blades’, we treasure the heritage and identity of our home town, Solingen. We believe that only where state-of-the-art manufacturing technology meets traditional craftsmanship can quality knives be forged.

Our forged WÜSTHOF knives are created in more than 54 steps.
Our forged knives go through over 54 steps, manufactured from a single piece of special WÜSTHOF knife steel from Germany. Heated to around 1,250°C, the red-hot steel is then compressed and shaped in the drop forge, forming the perfect basis for the longevity of our knives. With good care, they will last a lifetime. At WÜSTHOF we combine people and technology to create unique quality. We still rely on the experience of our experts, as no tool is more sensitive and discerning than the human hand and eye, especially in combination with modern production technology.
